HAKALAU OPEN STUDIOS WAS A SUCCESS!

Okay I forgot to post this on my website, because well…I’m pretty lazy about keeping my website updated. But for those of you that happen to be reading this, last weekend was our town’s first official “Hakalau Open Studios” Holiday Sale, and featured six artists in three different houses in my little neighborhood. Pictured here is my showroom (I converted my living room into a place to store and showcase my pottery). I was amazed at all the people that showed up, and really touched by all the neighbors old and new that came to visit. People came from different parts of the island, some driving almost two hours by car. Living in the country can be somewhat isolating; we’re all doing our own thing and it’s nice to connect with your community on a regular basis. We had so much fun that I hope to do Hakalau Open Studios twice a year now - one in November and another one in May. Many thanks to all the folks who came to support local, handmade work!
